Tornado KM – „Envija“ came back from tournament in Slovenia with invaluable experience

October 29 – 31 team Tornado KM – „Envija“ participated in the international basketball tournament in Slovenia, city Cerklje.

Eight teams – Krvavec Jesenice (SLO), Ir-Basket, Rijeka (CRO), Marijampolės ŽSM (LTU), ECE Triglav (SLO), Petrol Olimpija (SLO), Sonik Puntamika, Zadar (CRO), Helios Suns (SLO) and Tornado KM – “Envija” (LTU) competed for the title of champions.

During the tournament team of Tornado BS played five games. The last one game against Marijampolės ŽSM (LTU) was the easiest one and opponents were defeated with the result 37:74. All other games were point to point, so the players got invaluable experience. “I’m very happy with the tournament, - said coach of Tornado KM – “Envija” Donatas Mikulevičius. – We had lot of really good games, that was point to point till the last minute. Vicotry was won by those who showed a stronger character. All the teams in our group was very strong - Petrol Olimpija (SLO) and Helios Suns (SLO) won two first places of all tournament. We lost in 14 points agains Petrol Olimpija (SLO), but I think the main problem of this defeat was, that we had 3 games per day that day. All other games finished in few points difference. We only took the fifth place and this result wasn't really encouraging. I don't want to make excuse, but but this time we were not in full composition. Three important players stayed at home and our center was 185 cm in height player, who usually plays as forward. We were missing big players, but try to adapted to the situation and, I think, we managed managed with the situation. We had a very good practice playing with teams from Balkan countries. We saw lot of thing to fix, so now we have to keep working and move forward“

After this long journey and tough tournament, 4th of November Tornado KM – “Envija” will have a game of Lithuanian Championship against KM “Perkūnas” team.
